My Story

Michalis Vamiedakis was born in Rethymno, Crete, in 1971, where he began his journey in tourism. With advanced studies in tourism in Greece and Germany and fluency in English and German, Michalis has over two decades of experience shaping the tourism industry. From founding Deltanet Travel in 2002 to leading Vita Hotels in partnership with Allsun Hotels, his leadership has brought innovation and growth to Greek tourism and hospitality.

His strategic insights as a tourism expert and his role as Chief Global Strategist at DANAOS TRAVEL further solidify his influence in managing major destination networks and expanding Greece’s presence in the global tourism market.

In addition to his professional achievements, Michalis has a strong academic background, having served as a tutor specializing in the Tourism Division, he taught courses such as Tourism Packages, Flight Fares, Airport Management, and Customer Service, inspiring and mentoring numerous students to enter and excel in the tourism sector.

Promoted alternative tourism (medical, religious, diving, sports).
Participated in committees for sustainable tourism and transregional cooperation.
Secured and managed EU funding for tourism projects in Crete (PEP 2007-2013, 2014-2020).
Pioneered medical tourism, alternative tourism certification process
Enabled, liaised and supported the synergies between local producers and hotel sector for the promotion of the local products.
